Tapping the network represents the first visibility activity that needs to be implemented. A network TAP is an external device, inserted at a specific point in the network, that mirrors the traffic that is passing between network nodes, and send it to the monitoring tools without interfering with the network performances. Once it is installed it is working, no programming is required, and you can forget it, as it will need no more activities to go on doing its job.
Microtel Innovation developed several copper and optical TAPs to access the network with no failure, no packet loss, no interference with the environment. Our Network TAPs are installed worldwide, since many years, we are expert in providing our customers all the support they need for making the right installation with the right tools and the right products. Installing a 100G optical TAP is not a trivial activity: several problems may occur in case the activity is not properly done, like flapping and CRC errors in the tapped links.Microtel Innovation has lot of experience in making such installations, and can make this expertise available to its customers.
